Expand allDay 1:Ouarzazate → Skoura → Todra Gorges → Merzouga Desert
Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” is where your journey begins. After breakfast, we’ll travel to the Skoura Oasis, famous for its lush palm groves and the 17th-century Kasbah Amridil, As we continue through the Valley of Roses and the Dades Valley, we’ll pass fortified villages and winding mountain roads.
Our next stop is the Todra Gorges, where cliffs towering over 300 meters create a breathtaking canyon. After time to walk around and take photos, the journey continues through Erfoud and onward to Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara.
In Merzouga, a camel caravan will take you across the Erg Chebbi dunes just before sunset. As the sand glows golden in the fading light, enjoy the magic of the desert. The evening includes dinner, Berber music around the fire, and an overnight stay in a luxury desert tent beneath the stars.
Overnight: Merzouga (Luxury Camp)
Meals: Dinner Under the Stars
Day 2: Merzouga Desert → Ziz Valley → Midelt → Fes
Wake up early to witness the breathtaking Sahara sunrise. After breakfast at the camp, you’ll ride camels (or take a 4×4 transfer) back to Merzouga village, where the journey continues. The drive leads through the Ziz Valley, famous for its endless palm groves and traditional Berber villages, before reaching Midelt, a town nestled between the Middle Atlas and High Atlas Mountains, where you’ll stop for lunch.
From there, the road winds through cedar forests near Azrou, where you may spot Barbary macaque monkeys. The trip continues via Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” for its alpine-style architecture and pristine streets. By evening, you’ll arrive in Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural capital, marking the end of your desert adventure.
