Your 6 Days Tour in Morocco from Marrakech begins as you leave behind the bustling city of Marrakech and head toward the majestic High Atlas Mountains. Cross the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, sitting at an altitude of approximately 2,260 meters. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of jagged mountain slopes, rustic Berber villages clinging to hillsides, and sinuous roads that offer constant picture-postcard scenery. Your first major stop is the renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, a shining example of traditional Moroccan earthen architecture.
This ancient ksar (fortified village) has served as the backdrop for numerous movies and TV series, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring the maze-like alleys and fortress-like homes, continue on to Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa” for its active film studios and cinematic history. An overnight stay here is essential, giving you a chance to rest and recharge before the adventure continues.

⇒ Day 2: Ouarzazate ➝ Skoura Oasis ➝ Valley of Roses ➝ Dades Gorges
Leave Ouarzazate for the lush Skoura Oasis, known for its extensive palm groves and numerous ancient kasbahs. Pause to visit Kasbah Amridil, one of the best-preserved kasbahs in the region, offering a fascinating glimpse into traditional Moroccan life. Continue east to the Valley of Roses, celebrated for its blooming rose fields in May and June. Each spring, the area hosts an annual rose festival that draws many visitors. The landscape here is both fertile and vibrant a green carpet dotted with pink blossoms nestled among rocky mountain terrain.
Next, head to the spectacular Dades Gorges, a dramatic canyon carved by the Dades River. The area is famous for its striking red-rock formations and serpentine roads that twist and turn around rugged outcrops. The scenic drive winds through the heart of the gorge, offering countless photo opportunities. Spend the night in a charming guesthouse overlooking the canyon, where you can relax and take in the stunning views.

Day 3: Dades Gorges ➝ Todgha Gorges ➝ Erfoud ➝ Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Dunes)
Depart the Dades Valley and make your way to the breathtaking Todgha Gorges, a series of limestone river canyons that rise up to 160 meters high. Take a gentle walk along the riverbed, gazing up at the towering cliff walls that surround you. Next, continue to Erfoud, a town surrounded by desert landscapes and known for its rich fossil deposits. Often considered the last major stop before reaching the Sahara, Erfoud sets the stage for your journey into the dunes.
From there, head to Merzouga, the gateway to the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes. Upon arrival, prepare for a truly memorable experience as you set out into the Sahara on the back of a camel. Relax in the stillness of the desert and watch the sunset over the golden dunes. Later, enjoy an overnight stay at an authentic Berber desert camp, where you’ll have dinner under the stars and enjoy local music by the campfire.

Day 4: Merzouga Desert Exploration – Visit Nomad, Khamlia Village, Oasis
Rise early to witness the sunrise over the dunes, then return to your camp for a traditional breakfast. Afterwards, set off on a 4×4 adventure to explore the vast and varied desert landscape. Visit nomadic families living behind the dunes, where you’ll be welcomed with a cup of mint tea and have the opportunity to learn about their traditional way of life, preserved through generations. Continue to the village of Khamlia, known for its vibrant Gnaoua music a unique spiritual rhythm rooted in Sub-Saharan African culture.
Enjoy a live performance by local musicians who carry on this rich musical heritage. Later, wander through a surreal desert oasis, where tall date palms offer shade and serenity in the middle of the otherwise arid Sahara. Transfer to hotel to unwind and soak in the peacefulness of the desert surroundings.

Day 5: Merzouga ➝ Ziz Valley ➝ Midelt ➝ Ifrane ➝ Fes
Leaving Merzouga, your journey continues toward the fertile Ziz Valley, renowned for its lush palm groves and ancient kasbahs lining the winding road. As you travel, the stark desert slowly gives way to vibrant greenery a welcome and heartwarming sight. Next, arrive in Midelt, a mountain town nestled between the Middle and High Atlas ranges, known for its apple orchards and cooler climate.
Make a stop in Azrou, where expansive cedar forests are home to playful Barbary macaques, often seen leaping through the branches. Continue on to Ifrane, famously referred to as “Little Switzerland” for its alpine-style architecture, snow-dusted rooftops, and pristine streets.
